Frequently Asked Questions

All issues and concerns raised by parents/guardians are taken seriously by the teachers. Every effort will be made to address and resolve issues and concerns to the satisfaction of all parties and as quickly as possible.

Concerns and issues may be brought forward verbally or in writing. Responses and outcomes will be provided in writing and student confidentiality will be maintained. Investigations of issues and concerns will be fair, impartial and respectful to all parties involved.

Should a parent/guardian wish to withdraw the child from Little Oranges, a 30 days notice is required. Parent/guardians will be sent the appropriate form, which they must fill out and return to the school.

The different sessions are scheduled at different times of the day for the child to join. The schedule includes a 30 minute one-on-one session with the teacher where the child receives instruction in reading, writing, math, French and problem solving.

Little Oranges classes will be scheduled according to Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Parents/guardians are encouraged to take an active role at Little Oranges and regularly discuss what their child(ren) are experiencing with our program. Little Oranges promotes positive and responsive interactions amongst the students, teachers, parents and foster the engagement of communication.

Before you child can be officially enrolled in Little Oranges Online School you must complete and provide the following documents:

  • Signed Application and Rate Agreement
  • Signed Consent Forms (those that are applicable)
  • A Gmail account.

Spaces will be given on a first come first serve basis. Sibling(s) of a child already enrolled shall be given priority above any other child on the waitlist. Should a parent/guardian want to know where they stand on the waitlist, information will be provided accordingly, however personal information such as names of those on the list will not be disclosed.

Little Oranges accepts all major credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, AMEX). Upon enrolling your child, credit card information will be required and a monthly amount will be automatically deducted.

If parents/guardians require e-transfers, it will be done as a case to case basis. Please contact us for further details.

A registration fee of $50 will be required to secure a space for a child. A minimum of 2 months enrolment commitment is required from a parent/guardian regarding the child’s space. The registration fee is non-refundable. If a child decides to return after withdrawal a new registration fee of $50 will be required once the space has been secured for the child.

If the school is unable to provide a secured space despite the registration fee and 2 month commitment, then the registration fee will be returned to the individual.

Little Oranges follows the Ontario Curriculum and coincides with the dates issued by TDSB.

During the global pandemic of COVID-19, the Ministry of Education has suspended EQAO testing for the year.

Little Oranges is extremely excited for the updated Ontario Curriculum. We are working to develop the coding curriculum with our teachers and we will be implementing it this year.

Little Oranges begins school with Pre-K and then continues elementary school through Grade 5. Our online program is based on the Ontario Elementary School Curriculum. All our teachers are Early Childhood Educators (ECE certified) and Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT).

Little Oranges provides basic French instruction to all Grades. Our teachers will communicate with their students in French on a daily basis, promoting a strong foundation and fluency.
